Hi all. Been a loooong time since i last posted. My XKR is in and out of storage as i drive other vehicles.
I encountered an unusual issue when I recently took it out for a drive., hence the pics.

The issue I had was an annoying buzzing sound coming from the drivers side bonnet latch area. Almost sounded like it was coming from the airbag unit that deploys upon collision. Sounded almost like a geiger counter.
Turns out its the alarm sounder unit you see in the pics. It is bolted to the bulkhead.
To get to it you have to remove the airbag unit and latch. I'm going to order a new one and will post pics on the whole process. Hopefully it may help someone in the future.

If you haven’t ordered it yet check out a Ford Fiesta sounder. I believe it’s the same .
I got a new Fiesta one on EBay for a fraction of the Jag one.
I had the buzzing but on my car the sounder is de programmed. So no beeps when locking

 

The Jag price is $500 and the Ford price $420 nzd. Such a high price for what it is. I'm going to open it and see if i can replace the battery. I never had the beep on 2nd button press. Must not have been enabled. Everything works fine with it disconnected. So may just leave it
