Default California Emissions

Gents –

I've just purchased a 2010 XKR, finally replacing my 2006. The car is coming in from Pennsylvania and is due to arrive in a few days. I've not yet been able to look at the emissions placard. Does anyone know if Jaguar shipped "50 state" cars in 2010? More specifically, is this Pennsylvania XKR going to be legal for me to register in California? Yes, it is certainly a bit late to be considering this.

Thanks in advance for any info.

@Octurbo: Thanks! That is terrific news. I would have been very disappointed if I was unable to register the car here.

For general reference: I've never seen a suggestion in any manual that the XK ever had a state-specific configuration - it always references NAS (North American Specification). It's possible that certain dealer options have to be turned on in some places (e.g. running lights in Canada), but the hardware & software appears to be NA-wide.

If I'm wrong about that, please correct.

P.S. - you're gonna love it

CA emissions standards are higher than the rest of the states for new car sales. They used to apply a tax to non-CA cars but that stopped probably 15 years ago. You can bring any US car into the state. You will still have to pass smog however.

+1 on the above

(It could fail but that would mean there's a fault, not that it's got the wrong set up. You'd just fix the fault and be good.)

Thanks everyone who jumped in on this. The answer is yes, the 2010 XKR is, indeed a 50 state car, legal in California. For people researching bringing late model Jaguars into California, I wrote a summary in another thread here.
