Default CATS suspension front strut repair

I have a 2007 XK with CATS and pulled front strut to replace the insulator. The rod seems to have withdrawn or lowered to the point that I cannot compress the springs ENOUGH to finish the final installation.
Any suggestions on how to correct this situation and get the rod at the right length?

Had to use 2 sets of spring compressors to get that spring short enough (rented from the local auto parts store). Compress as far as possible with first set, then use second set on the coil openings now at the top and bottom.

I've done it both ways with a proper floor mounted spring compressor unit and also with 2 sets of spring compressors please be super careful 🙏

Spring compression is being done while the strut is off the car, so everything is in plain view. Spring compression is to take the strut itself apart to replace a component, usually the damper or isolator. No need to compress it when removing/installing the strut on the car.
