A weird fault occurred last night, CD error came up saying can't read the CD, which had played perfectly before as did all the others!. Now I can't select any other CD nor any of the screen buttons. The unit just continually whirrs away trying to select the CD also noticed the car phone speaker isn't working, which I guess could be connected to this fault. So I guess its a removal job?

 

 

All of the typical battery questions will come up so make sure you have checked your battery voltage before you start replacing anything.

 

Its in for a new Air bag control unit in the steering wheel next week so I'll get them to do the hard reset as the battery has to be disconnected anyway for the replacement, also I've had a new alternator and battery a month ago, it may be a copy CD that has suddenly thrown a wobbly, thanks for the tips chaps

 

Similar happened on my XE. Needed a software update. Not saying the is the root cause in your case though.
