Default Select Certified or not select certified

Hello Everyone,

I'm in the market for a 2010/2011 XKR. I was going to purchase one a few months back, but it didn't work out. Anyway, my question is, is there any true value to buying select certified as opposed to not buying a select certified XKR. I've noticed the select certified cars are more expensive and I was wonddering if you guys believe it's worth the extra coin to go that route. Thx for the advice.

Sounds like from my years of reading threads, that Jag's warranty is not worth the money. Better off keeping the money handy for any repair should it happen. There are too many repairs that are not covered by the warranty. Just my opinion and others may say the opposite...

I have had two Jaguar's, in the past, both of which were Select Edition's. The current Jag, a 2008 XK, is also an SE. My business is automotive and I have access to repairs, at a "discounted" price. In spite of this, the SE warranty has more than paid for itself. Our Jaguar's are very expensive to repair, in both labor and parts.

I am fairly confident that you will be glad that you spent a few more dollars. I would also encourage to negotiate a bit more aggressively, in an attempt to offset the extra cost of the SE coverage.

Hope that helps...

If it's going to be your daily driver then yes i would definately opt for the SE warranty.

I'd never buy without getting a S.E. Jag. Just a great warranty well worth the peace of mind... You'll recoup much of the price in resale, should you sell with the S.E. coverage still in effect. I've had nothing but top service and value for the price.

I've always weighed this same question. OEM warranty or 3rd party.
I'm working towards a 09 XKR Portfolio Coupe. One is available for certification(Select Edition) for $2900. Basically addition 2 years.
Other dealership same boat, but they offer JM&A (Fidelity) for 5/85,000 for $3000. Reviewing the contract, the exclusions are basically the same. My local dealership has
a good relationship working with them so it is really a simple choice for me.
I've done this before with much success. I've found the OEM warranties are traditionally overpriced. Hope to close my deal next week!
