Unhappy Center Console Won't Work

Hi all. '08, XKR, supercharged.
Occasionally when I start her up, the center console never comes on (well, just the picture of the Jaguar...which never goes off). No console: no AC/Heat, no radio, no "lots of features"). Any one else have this "feature"?

Mildly panicked,

Carl

It is a pretty common occurrence, and there are many threads on this, one at least quite recent. It starts with battery condition and escalates from there.

It's either your car's battery (90%) or the TSD unit is malfunctioning. (10%)
Have your battery load tested and fully charged. NOT using a maintainer, but an actual Charger.
If you have 12.6 volts after sitting for many hours and the screen still doesn't work, start the engine and let it run for a few minutes then try again. If still no good, it's the TSD unit.
Lots of threads in here on replacing it, the XF units also work.

Thanks to you both. Just had batter checked...full 13v. Guess I'll dig on TSD as I have no idea what that is...

Time to learn...

TSD = Touch Screen Display. Use the "search this forum" function on the X150 page

Meh, bad boot up on start. Plug in your OBD2 scan tool and the TSD will reboot when the tool searches systems for codes. Happens to me every couple months and I keep the tool on the back seat.

Or maybe a hard reset.

Hard reset is for those freezing mornings when the door glass sticks and now thinks full up is full down. BTDT, I keep a 10mm wrench in the trunk
