Default Centre screen faulty

Help please. I have a 2014XK convertible, garaged normally on a CTek charger. Last week it was not on charge for a few days and on the first cold morning of the winter, the car started but the centre display started to pulsate just showing the Jaguar emblem. I have put it back on charge, driven a few miles but still nothing. I just wondered what more knowledgeable members might suggest going forward. Thanks in advance.

Try a hard reset of the system by removing both battery terminals and touching them both together. That discharges a bunch of the ECUs. You will need to reset the park brake, windows and possibly seats but worth trying. Many members will also suggest checking battery voltage as these cars do not like being low and can cause a bunch of temporary gremlins.

Thanks for coming back to me. Is it a difficult job to reset the seats and windows? If not I will give it a go. It does make sense as it was very cold and it was not being charged, typical it then passed its MOT test without the display working, which I suppose was a good thing.

Doing the park brake is simply lifting the switch to re-engage it. The windows from memory is you hold them all the way down, count to 5, then all the way up and count to 5 again. The seats if they lose their position setting (not the memory buttons) requires a scanner like an Autel AP200, or a dealer/specialist to re-calibrate. Easy to diy with the scanner and is relatively cheap. You'll know if the seats have lost their position settings because they won't recline all the way/recline too far etc.

I had this on my 2008.
I read somewhere if you press the starter to activate ignition only ie no foot on brake first. Then start it normally.
Worked for me

It's a classic symptom of a failing module in the MOST bus fiber optic ring. The flashing symptom is the faulty module attempting to reboot. The fiber optic ring is being interrupted, There are two stacks within the ring. Trunk stack and center stack. The center stack is the stack of modules under your touch screen. They include the touchscreen, the ICM which is a gateway between canbus and fiber optics (so they can speak to each other). That's the little black box on top of the CD player. Then there is the CD/radio Player. If you have premium audio, there is also the amplifier under the carpet in the passenger footwell.

In the trunk there are a stack of modules. Bluetooth module for you phone, The Navigation DVD module (maps) if you have satellite, that module, your iPod module. BT, satellite and Navigation are the usual suspects. You need a fiber optic bypass loop. Simply disconnect the fiber optic line from the module, pick one at a time, and connect the bypass loop to the fiber optic line. Turn on your car, if the problem stops, you found your offending module. If not, reconnect it and move on to the next one.

If your car has ‘possible battery issues’ after a few days off charge then I would consider changing the battery.
Its possibly the original?
But definitely check the battery voltage 12.5v min

Thanks for coming back, as I don't know how old the battery is, and plan to keep it for some time, that's what I am going to do first.

Did not work, think it's battery time.

Voltage was just over 12V having been charged by the CTek so its new battery time. Fingers crossed

I hopefully have some good news. On Tuesday I had a new battery and the screen has come back. Checked again today and it's still ok.

The thing I can't understand is, if you recharge and use a CTek charger it doesn't come back

The CTEK will take the battery up to what the CTEK measures as a full charge voltage wise but if the load capacity of the battery is diminished due to age then the JAG electronic modules won't like the voltage drop on engine crank.
