Default Changing out wood for Alum?? 07XKR

I hope to pick up an 07 XKR this week or next. I'm not a fan of the standard wood, is there a way to replace it with aluminum or a black finish?

I suppose I could have the parts hydro-dipped (water transfer) with a carbon fiber or dark/black wood grain. http://www.hydro-dip.com/all_patterns.htm

Any suggestions?

You could check with your local Jaguar dealer to see if they can swap out the wood trim for the Piano Black and Aluminum trim package. It might be a bit pricey though. There are other vendors such as madera concepts or british auto woods that might help. I don't know what your budget is though.

Good luck,

Mike

just did a quick price check out on the dash pieces and a small piece on the door panels and all together it came out to 1529 plus tax. i selected aluminum. just wanted to give you a rough estimate. this is from a jag dealer. hope this helped you make a decision on which way to go.

Default Thanks

I appreciate you doing that leg work. It is costly but not outrageous. I think as a factory option it was more than that. I wonder how hard it is to actually change it out. Plus, I would think the factory wood in good condition would have value to someone.

Any suggestions?

Dealer offered to swap wood out for aluminium for me to sweeten a purchase, so definitely possible. He said it would be about £800, but that might be at cost as part of a purchase deal?

Lol -- I love all these options on interior -- and variety makes the world go round! I looked extra long to find an XKR that had the walnut interior. I didn't want the piano black or aluminum ones that I kept finding. Why wood? Because Jag!

Exactly my experience. I would have saved a bunch had I bought the first XK I found, but it had a piano black interior. That does not say Jaguar to me.
