Hi, this is a colors question. I'm looking to get a 2010 or 2011 XK/XKR. The two reds I find interesting are the Claret and the Radiance. I know they're pretty similar, though one seems a little darker and the other a little "orangier". I'd like the darker. However, online photos seems to be quite inconsistent and websites showing color swatches to not agree with one another. Compounding the matter is that they are unusual colors so finding two somewhere nearby to see them side by side is not working out at all. Is anyone here familiar with both of those colors?

Not sure what the situation was in the US but according to the 2010MY UK brochure I have, Claret replaced Radience in mid 2009 so if you go for a 2011 model you may be forced to go with Claret.

 

I don't think they make Radiance anymore. If you're sensitive to color, then I wouldn't ever choose a color based on photos/images. Claret doesn't look like a red in real life. It looks more like a burnt orange.

Yes, I've seen one or two other red models at the dealer when I've been in for service and always thought there was an orangeish quality to the color. I'm sure some love it. I wonder if the Radiance drift more to a candy apple red. I guess that somehow I need to find any model in the Radiance to see what it looks like. I have to admit I haven't been back to the dealer in a while (knock on wood).
