Took my car XKR into a specialist 2 weeks ago for air con condenser replacement that was leaking and bonnet airbag triggering the pedestrian warning. As I drove home from the garage 10mins down the road the restricted performance mode kicked in, unfortunately my car was only ready at the very end of the day and they were pulling down the shutters at the garage as I left so didn’t head back. It had since gone into restricted performance mode 3 times for a few minutes. Yet today the engine management light came on and I noticed some low down squeaking as I drove slowly home. The specialist I used is miles away so don’t really want to risk driving it back there now. Would anyone have any thoughts as to what it may be the issue and/or recommend a good garage in the Milton Keynes area?
I purchased an OBD2 device today and the code I’m receiving is P2601 - Engine coolant pump range/performance problem. All warnings have since disappeared on the dash, still concerning. I don’t really want to use the car so not to cause any damage.
Is this safe to continue driving or should I get the car inspected first?
Shame I live so far from my specialist, I’d be less concerned if I did as they are pretty decent. Just don’t want to take the risk of something going on my way down.

Here's is the Workshop Manual extract showing the possible causes of P2601:
Definitely check and eliminate low coolant as a possibility before comsidering driving the vehicle.
That must be the electric coolant pump for the supercharger? It doesn't say anywhere so might be confusing for him
and he just checks the coolant level for the engine.
My guess is when they changed the condenser, they broke or loosened a sensor connection somewhere, maybe by physically jarring the connector, wire, etc. This guess is made because you say it was fine before the repair.
Check all cabling/connectons around the area of the repair and wherever the sensor is that causes P2601 to report. Look for physical damage or marks. That's where I would start.
