Cruise control rotary switch getting lazy.
Hi,
I noticed that on my XK (2012 MY) the cruise control rotary switch is getting slow to revert back to its position: it takes now a fraction of a second to get back to neutral when I push it up or down, while before it was immediate.
Is this a known issue? As I don’t use the car and that feature much, I suppose it’s more a dirt issue than a defective spring.
Any tips on how to clean it or lubricate it without dismantling?
Air spray? Contact cleaner? Teflon spray?
Many thanks,
Thierry

Do NOT use Electrical Contact Spray!!!! That will eat all plastic and coated surfaces.
Me, I'd suck it up and take **** apart to ensure I don't mess stuff up.
Course, you COULD use heavy sticky paper taped all around the switch and spray some WD40 in there and quickly wipe up the residue, then let it sit and drip for awhile and wipe it up again.

Well, I planned to use contact spray as it seemed to me to be less agressive than wd40.
Was looking for a quick and easy fix as I’m on a long road trip with the car with only a few essential tools in the trunk...but maybe I’ll wait until I’m back home to do this correctly...
Does anybody have the procedure to remove that switch for cleaning/repair/exchange?
thanks!
