I would have thought battery as well. I get this if the battery is a bit low.
12.2v is low , so give it a good charge

His battery is low, when mine was failing the first thing that went away was cruise control availability, the next thing that dropped out was power steering. With new battery all is well.

If battery shows less than 12.6 volts across the terminals when charged for twelve hours and checked with a voltmeter, replace the battery.

My first faults with a low battery is usually DSC Not Available and E-Diff Not Available (or something like that).

George,
When I had a tune added to my car years ago, in the remap of the ecu the limiter is released. Immediately after that I got the same Cruise Control Not Available warning as well as my Ada[tive Cruise control didn't work. Since I never use either, it hasn't bothered me, although I have considered getting it repaired just so that I know everything works/ I would bet the remap of your friend's car was the cause.

Ohh, same systems. Must be the remap . Thing is the car will not pass its MOT (annual road test) with any fault codes on screen

Looks like the remap will have to be deleted to restore car , I don't know any other way how to erase the fault from screen

FWIW
I had the same problem as George05, and the same solution as jackjohn.
All is well now.

Thanks guys , have just advised Steve to buy a new battery , I took a reading a few mins ago and it was 12.3 v had been on full charge over nite last nite for 12 hrs and battery was only 3 years old he told me , Previous owner had it installed and he had the receipt in service records documents from last owner was £325 from a jaguar dealer . Also advised him on the map , saying if the new battery don't remove warning to go back to them , will update this thread of outcomes

No chance of careful application of black marker pen can't mark it as worked on my old x100? Oops sorry forgot it's got an angled cover on the x150

Personally cruise is never a funtion I use, so check with your local MOT place if this would mean a fail?

Typically on fault warnings that cycle on start up if one stays on it's a fail, cruise IIRC isnt one of those. So check if you can pull a fuse for your CC that may.kill the warning lighr...although thinking about it, it then may.thow up another warning.
