Default Custom LED Headlight Installation

Hi guys,

I am planning to install LED headlight kit (see link) for my XK.
http://www.plasmaglow.com/lightning-eyes-headlight-kit/

My question is, how do I know which wires to splice for ground wire and either 1) the main headlight, or 2) indicator light wire from multi-plug connector (see pictorials below)? I know the housing for the bulbs are sealed to prevent moisture and fogging up. I am going to use quick splice connector on existing wires. Can anyone shed light on which color wires are for ground, headlight, and indictor? It would be helpful and great, if you have photos or diagrams.

I would like to modernize the look to my Jag as you can see my photoshopped image of what LED will look like in my installation. It does make it look more like Aston Martin!

Thanks for your help!

Interesting, kind of Audi-esque.

I assume you want them on with the side lights (not indicators)

According to the wiring diagrams - the side lights are on pin 2 - wire should be black/white on the right side and black/red on the left side. Ground for the sidelights is on pin 1 colour black.

Headlamps are on pin 8 orange/green for left and orange/yellow for right. Ground pin 9. My gut is telling me that wiring anything in parallel with the headlamps may be a bad idea since they're not a simple resistive load like the sidelights.

I'd recommend you get a subscription to something like http://www.alldatadiy.com/index.html or http://topix.jaguar.jlrext.com/topix/vehicle/lookupForm (which will give you access to all the diagrams, TSBs etc) and double check the wiring diagrams though. i.e don't blame me if you fry something

Most body shops can easily add a strip of LEDs as DRLs.

They are no longer at the Photobucket URLs you put in the original post. If they were in your Photobucket, you must have moved them - if they were someone else's, that highlights the risk of linking to images you don't control. Better to download the image from the source and then upload to the forum - then it stays here with the post.
