Default Dash Board Replacement

The leather on my dash is lifting ...not to be confused with a similar post where the leather pulling.

Not exactly sure why this is happening however once the dealer pointed it out to me it was quite noticeable ...i guess its just wasnt one of those things I look at while driving and its not really noticeable unless you look closely and actually put your hand on the dash to feel that the leather has lifted.

Apparently its a known defect and the dealer is taking car of it ...new dash should be here by now ...but wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this issue and could comment.

Thanks!

Where is dealer telling you the leather is separating from the dash?
I will ask my local dealer if he has heard anything about this problem.

Hey baiao

'10 XK ...currently aprox. 36,000 KM's

Its lifting in the center part of the dash towards the window and to the right side of the arch of the drivers cluster. Service rep took pics from the outside inwards towards the dash and there is no doubt its lifting ...shame i dont have the pics ...will post if I can get my hands on them.

What'd your guys tell ya??

Default dashboard defect

Had the same issue when I bought my 07 XK, car only had 24,000 miles. garage kept. luckilly spotted it while still under warranty. dealer replaced it no problem. ( would have cost $3000-$4500). From what Iv'e seen on the forum this seems to be a manufacturer's defect.

Yeah it is a manufacturer defect ...Jag is replacing free of change.
Car is in now to get it done, hope to have it back next week. Was told the job takes 3 days to do ...clearly not a small job!

Not to highjack the thread but has Jaguar decided the door panels are also a manufacture defect yet?

Had the same issue. Looked like a bulge by the center speaker. Dealer replaced with a new dash under warranty.
