hi guys. I have a 2007 xkr with the alpine system, and i'm wondering if the grill in the center of the dash is for a speaker. I am unable to get the grill off to see, and I am unable to look in through the tiny holes with a flashlight.


if it is a speaker under there, anyone know what size it is and if it is a woofer or a co-axial 2-way?


edit.....I can hear a speaker in there. now I just need to know the type and size. tnx!

This grill does pop off. I popped mine off when stretching and conditioning my dash.
Just be cautious as the sun bakes this plastic and it becomes fragile and will crack. Use a proper plastic interior wedge tool.

 

About 4 and 5/8 inch from edge to edge.




About 5 and 3/8 inch edge to edge.




About 2 and 1/2 inch front to back, including the 3/8 inch plastic speaker grill.


It is a simple 4 inch round single speaker (measuring the cone and surround), the frame with mounting holes is a bit bigger, 4 5/8 at the narrowest, and 5 3/8 at the widest. It is also about 2 1/2 inches deep (which includes the 3/8 inch plastic grid over the speaker).
