Digital speedometer

Digital speedometer
Hi,
I just bought a new 'used' car in the UK in thr last few days, a XKR 2007 model in slate grey/cream leather/alcantara facias with Milltek exhaust, ECU stage 2 remap and 20 inch Judd alloys. However, one thing has stumped me so far. I have been trying to see if there's a way to display a digital speedometer in the centre display between the analogue speedometer and rev counter. I can see online that this is possible on later model XKRs but on a 2007 model the trip computer options toggle through the standard avg. speed / avg. gas mileage / trip odometer readings without seeming to give me an actual digital speedometer setting.
Can anyone tell me who has an early 2006+ XK or XKR if you can set the digital speed to display and how to do this? Tried Jaguar themselves and they referred me to their dealer network which wasn't much help.
Came from a Porsche where the oil temp and speed were displayed digitally alongside the standard analogue rev counter and speed clocks.
Thanks in advance for any help.

You can't "set" the display to give you any engine information. I've been mulling this over myself. I've used a blue tooth OBDII port adapter to give me coolant temp and boost to the "Torq" app on my Galaxy S4. Some people have used the video input of the nav system as an input for a rear view camera. My thought process is to use the nav's video input to display the screen on my phone. Sounds like the hard way but it's the only way I can think of. It baffles me that any car, let alone a $95,000 car, not have a coolant temp gauge. It's not an over site, it's moronic.

And why is the speedo on the Left? For my 80 yo eyes it should be on the Right ; just like the XK8!
Also...............fuel filler on wrong side for US market too!!!
Continuous improvement unheard of at Jaguar; now I feel much better!
But I do love my 2007 XK Coupe otherwise; will drive it to Seattle Jag Club Christmas party this Sunday.
Cheers and A Merry Christmas to one and all, Adrian

Many thanks to everyone on this. I'll see if I can find the Vehicle Sensor page hidden in the touch screen options. It seems amazing to me that the car can work out and display average speed fine digitally between the main clocks, but it can't show the actual speed. It's a great car though, so I guess a few quirks I can expect!

It isn't something you would want to do every day but it is done by putting the instrument cluster in to diagnostic mode.
It is a bit fiddly but you press the trip button in for more than 5 seconds but less than 8 then momentarily press the start button. It took me 4 or 5 attempts to get it to work but when successful the message ENGINEERING TEST MODE appears. You can then cycle through the various tests available.
You can see the various things displayed and tests done here:
The Vehicle Sensor page is on the touch screen diagnostics. You can get in to that by selecting the sat nav then pressing and holding at the top middle of the screen until a numeric keypad appears. There are three different screens available:
660 - Diagnostic Menu
661 - System Check Screen
662 - GPS Information Screen
The screen shot I posted earlier is in the first one. Don't select 'Loading' because it tells the sat nav unit to try and load new firmware!

If you go into cruise control you get a digital display. Depends why you want a digital display but if it's to check your speed more accurately then go into cruise control and adjust it to the speed you want from the steering wheel control button. Not quite what you want but it a way to get it digitally

Don't know how Jag does it but with my GMC truck you can re-calibrate the speedo when you change tire size. The dealer does this . I would believe jag could do this too.

I use a GPS display to give me an accurate digital speed readout, attached to the windscreen just below my line of sight so I can see it without having to glance away from the road. Unfortunately, it's a Road Angel speed-camera-alert system, only really usable in the UK so I don't have a more international solution.

I find the TomTom speed indication a bit small - the Road Angel has a nice big number that's easy to see at a glance. Something like this might be useful:

I've looked with interest at them for a year or so, but question the bulkiness on the dash, question mounting to leather, and most require a reflective film adhered to the windshield which could be annoying in its own right.......
Anyone?
