Default DIY Vert Top Replacement

Has anyone DIY replaced their convertible top? If so, what tips can you offer?

Looking through the manual it would appear to be fairly straight forward with some help. At the same time though I've never taken that kind of project on and I'm just unsure if I could gain professional results.

So, anyone here have experience you can share?

I replaced the convertible top on a 1990 Celica. It wasn't necessarily difficult but it was time consuming. It's a two piece. Took me two days and I had the genuine factory manual. I bought a bunch of those small orange squeeze clamps to hold it in place. Weldwood contact adhesive for the glue. By doing it I also learned how to re-tighten the top when needed.

I did it on my BMW, twice. It is time consuming but not difficult. I bought a top from topsonline, and made sure it had the plastic guides, which I think helps tremendously to get it on just right. If my jag ever needs a new top I intend to do it myself also.

Thanks for your help/thoughts on DIY top. I've done some more research on it and am pretty sure it is something I (and the wife) can take on as a winter project. I hope to post my experience here for others to reference too.
