Default Door handle key lock cover replacement

Drove to work this morning and noticed the little plastic (?) door handle key lock cover was missing. Must of flown off somewhere along the way! Anyone know how to order this simple part online or just easier to go into the dealership? It is a bit of an eye sore. It is 2008 XKR , Midnight blue.

Thanks!

Same thing happened on one of my XF loaners, those pieces are on very tight and I was surprised it came off. Dealership should be fine I'd bet it's under $20.

Lost mine as well. Just had it replaced yesterday. I have an 08 XK Frost Blue and it cost $88 for the part and labor to paint it. Very expensive for such a small item.

Same thing happened to my 08 XK yesterday. I'm trying to get it replaced under warranty.

I just experienced the same issue and am intersted in hearing any success stories with getting this covered by the warranty?

Unhappy Door lock cover

How annoying is it when that little plastic cover on the door lock keeps falling off ?
My dealer is now saying they dont think its covered by the warranty ? So if the door falls off is that not covered either ?

I know this is an old post, so if anyone knows the answer, let me know:
Is this something you can order from Jaguar already painted the factory color (indigo blue), or are there any other tricks? Mine fell off a couple days ago (driver's side) and I have no idea where.

Some breaker's yard, I'd say. Check the Google for ones near you.

I'm guessing the boneyard would only sell the whole handle, but it would still be your best bet.

They seem to only be supplied in primer:

Passive entry
C2P7221XXX - RH
C2P7224XXX - LH

Except Passive entry
C2P7223XXX - RH
C2P7227XXX - LH

When I got my Key Blade cut a few years ago, I took the cap off the handle to check the key. The little tab on the bottom broke so the cap wouldn't stay put. I grabbed a smallish black alumin(i)um screw and fastened it from the bottom. The screw isn't noticeable, and now my cap will never come off accidentally. It does come out easily by hand, if I ever need to use the key.

what's the difference between passive entry and non passive entry? In other words, what is meant by passive entry?

If your car has passive entry you don't need to use a fob to unlock it, you just pull the door handle.

I find it weird they would be different for Passive and Active. The button for the Passive is on the handle itself, and not where the cap is.

Old thread back alive.....
I need a LH door handle bezel/cover for a 2013 XF no passive entry, so in theory C2P7227XXX.

However, this is more difficult to source than C2P7224XXX (for passive entry)

Is there really a physical difference between these 2 references ?

Someone should make a file for 3D printing these things.
