Sometimes reading this forum is a bit like the twilight zone, topics that have been solved come up again, and the poor posters get all kinds of advice. On this specific issue, so much time and effort is wasted IMO. No, it's not about either taking the dash apart, or lowering the transmission. There's a third way, max one hour, see this sticky:

There's debate whether this method works on 2010 cars and later because there's som carpet in the way. Some say it does not, but some have done it.
