EGR Question - 2008 XKR X150
Hello everyone. I'm currently in the re-build stage after removing my supercharger and surrounding accessories to replace my valley hoses (among many other parts, for peace of mind and maintenance). Early in the process, it appears I made the mistake of removing the EGR solenoid from the EGR valve itself. I'm finding it very challenging to re-attach the solenoid to the EGR valve. The solenoid has two prongs that insert into two square holes on valve assembly, but the plastic housing makes it impossible to see or manipulate the prongs when attempting to re-join the parts.
Question: Has anyone else every attempted to rejoin the solenoid to the EGR valve assembly? Is it possible to mate these parts together again, or should I just bite the bullet and buy a new OEM EGR valve (approx $500), or an aftermarket brand?. Any insight or feedback is appreciated. Thank you very much.

@WoodlandsJag , have you downloaded the workshop manual found in the stickies of this forum?
As for your issue, mileage will vary on the disassembly/assembly of a manufactured part... let us know how you fare.
Many do use aftermaket... but as experience and history dictates, I stick with the very oem parts that provided the long, good service life.

Thank you for the suggestions. I finally realized the prongs from the solenoid can be extended outwards, which made it possible to insert the prongs into the square holes of the valve assembly. Mission accomplished. Let the rebuild continue...Thanks again.
