My first mod, remove engine cover. Anyone think there would be any harm doing this aside from more noise and maybe extra heat protection? If I get the right hood liner it might do the trick for the noise and heat. Thoughts?

I doubt there would be a problem as the '97-'06 XKR didn't have an engine cover and the engine is practically the same (the '07-'09 is just the revised 4.2L from the previous engine). As you can see...the pre '07 engine looks similar and again...they didn't come with engine covers.


Now the 5.0L might look different....maybe someone with the 5.0L can post a pic with their engine cover off.
