I was hoping there was someone out there that could give me a clue as to where I could find the engine number on my 2007 XK.

I have been looking but can;t seem to find it anywhere and google is not being my friend on this.

 

According to the workshop manual:

Engine Number
The engine serial number is stamped on an engine web on the left-hand side of the cylinder block behind the engine mounting.

 

Thanks for your reply. I am guessing I probably will not be able to find it by lifting the hood and using a torch. Sounds like it has to be found from underneath.

 

So, the guy I have sold my XK to is insistent that I send him a photo of the engine number, citing some fear he has that he won't get insurance if the number does not match. How would I go about getting the photo?

I see the location described above (thanks u102768) but what would I be looking for exactly and how would I best get a camera (phone) in to a spot to take the photo.
