Outlet pipe was date stamped 2006 so is original. The outlet pipe looked in perfect condition,no signs of any wear.

this what my sons looked like. Steam decomposed the plastic and the lip that retains the upper O ring fell apart.

 

After my overheating issue due to loss of coolant,the car is back together now and is running perfectly.

1. Replaced all coolant hoses.
2. New water pump
3. New pipe outlet
4. New gaskets where needed.

Funny how this forum is over loaded with 2010 XK+ over heating cooling issues and now we have a 2006. The 4.2 actually was proven in this dept. Go figure.

Would you mind posting the part numbers associated with the coolant hoses and the gaskets? I would like to proactively replace the parts you listed above, plus the serpentine belt and tensioner, on my 2007 w/78K miles. (I had previously replaced the pipe outlet except for the piece that provides a bypass to the coolant pump via the intake manifold.)

The parts catalog available in the US seems to contain a mistake with respect to the hoses marked 9 and 10 in the exploded diagram, since they both are attributed with the same part number, C2P2186. Also I was not able to find the part numbers of the intake manifold plastic riser gaskets.

Did you need to remove the eight fuel injectors from the intake manifold when removing the plastic manifold riser? If yes did you replace the injector O-rings?

Living in southern AZ with high summer temps at 110 degrees F, I don't want to wait for a hose to fail before taking action... Thanks!
