Default Evaporator Leak

I have a slow leak in the a/c system evaporator of my 2010 Jaguar XKR convertible. The cost to remove and replace the evaporator is in the $3500 range and requires a complete dash removal. I fear the dash removal and replacement could introduce other problems if any mistakes are made. Does anyone know of any method or additive that might be used to avoid dash removal to stop the leak?

Depending on the severity of the leak, there are loads of products for treating aircon leaks on the market, such as this:

https://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-235796-...ak-sealer.aspx

or this:

Amazon Amazon

or this:

https://www.halfords.com/motoring/en...ak-537934.html

etc. These are UK links but there'll be any number of similar products in the US.

I've had the same problem for about 5 years now except the quote for repair was closer to four grand. No idea the severity of your leak, but my evaporator's a small one and only requires a charge once per year at a cost of about $200 so I've left it be as it would take 20 years to break even and I reckon it won't matter 20 years from now...
