I have had my 2007 XKR up on the quick jack for a few weeks now, will be replacing front shocks and some other suspension parts. Car has not been running at all while up there. Today I notice a big pool underneath. Have not gone under yet but it looks like it dropped from the area around the back of the transmission pan. Could it be the pan just started leaking all of a sudden?
Gonna try to get under there soon to see what I can but figured I would post the pic and see if anyone has experienced something similiar or has any thoughts.
First check if it is transmission fluid or motor oil.
I had an oil leak that dripped off the end of the transmission (slight slope of the garage floor, so the oil was seeking the lowest point before dripping).
Its fairly thin and I dont see any reddish tint so im leaning towards oil. But still cant understand why / how all of a sudden when the car has not run for weeks.

Large ambient temperature swing? Could cause gasket shrinkage?
Transmission fluid has a distinctive smell. My cars the same age the transmission fluid had a strong smell that instantly identified it from engine oil .
