Default Exhaust manifold part number help...

Hi,

I've been asked to locate the gasket that goes between the offside exhaust manifold and the cat. It's not the exhaust manifold gasket, AJ810024, as I've already replaced that. But, I've been told there's a leak between the exhaust manifold and the cat.

Can anyone please help with a part number or more info...

Jaguar XK 2007, 4.2.

Thank you.

I seem to remember no gasket, but a ball 'n flange compression seal. I thought I still had an old 4.2 cat, but I don't.

That IPB specifically shows NO gasket.

So, if there's a leak between the exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter, any idea what to look for?

Bent metal; loose or missing hardware.

It comes with the catalytic converter. You have a loose metal ring that floats around the entrance to the converter. If that's leaking or damaged replace the cat or figure out a way to cut and weld things back together. Hope that you don't have any damage on the outlet of the exhaust manifold as that is WAY more work and a big danger of breaking bolts off in the head. Something you really don't want to fight.

You possibly could have a crack or split in the bell mouth of the cat. Again until you get in there and look we just don't know.

Here is what you have;

The red circle is where your leak is at. As posted above there is no gasket and nothing is replaceable unless you replace the cat itself. I have a different car a 2014 XJR but mine are $2200 EACH from Jaguar! Now I did a quick search and found for your car a MUCH cheaper cat converter at around $700 each.
XK Catalytic Convertors

Also be aware depending on if you live in the rust belt or not your very likely to run into rusted hardware. Plan on fighting this as my car is from Texas and has zero rust but all the studs and nuts holding the catalytic converters onto the exhaust manifolds were rusted solid and I had to use a torch to get them red hot before I could get them apart and get the cat off the car.

Take a picture and post back as we all just guessing on the internet!

there is no gasket, the 'sealing' is handled by the compressing of the header pipe into the catalytic converter's flange.
