Default Exhaust options

Excited about my new to me XKR, but I want to make it sound more aggressive.
What exhaust systems is everone using?
I noticed that most options are coming from Europe. Are there any systems that are shipped within the US?
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

That's a very pretty car.

While there are some aftermarket options out there (and I expect they sound awesome) a very cheap mod is to delete the resonator and install an x-pipe. I did it to mine (cost less than $400 from memory) and it made a huge difference. I went for that option because it is the basis of the XKR-S exhaust setup.

There are plenty of threads in this forum about it.

Nice ride, enjoy. Mina Galleries in Reseda CA has custom exhaust systems for our cars. They have other bits and pieces as well. the url Jaguar Performance Parts and Accessories

I have the Mina setup on my XKR. TBerg has the Mina setup plus he has the X piece as well. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

As Bruce stated alot of us replace the mid pipe muffler with a crossover X pipe.

Not only will this improve the sound at WOT but more importantly merge the two cylinder banks together creating a better flow.

In terms off aftermarket rear muffler box i love the sound of powerhouse's (he's on our forum) elite system

That car is hot looking!

It's worth the extra for the Euro brands like Spires, Supersprint, or Quicksilver... If you ever sell the car, reinstall the OEM and sell the aftermarket for good resale...

Do not go just replacing the mufflers with Magnaflow or the like. You'll be disappointed. Jag did a good job designing the exhaust and it takes some engineering to stay on par. I learned the hard way on that with my XK. Mina exhaust gets mixed reviews. I noticed with the Magnflows, the car was dog off the line and just drove like crap... Threw those mufflers in the dumpster.

I am waiting for Spires to complete manufacture on 3.0 V6 for my XE.

I recently replaced the mid-resonator with an x-pipe, and am very pleased. Driving around town under 2000 rpms, and you wouldn't notice any difference. But step on it, and a deep growl emanates without being crazy. I really like it. It also seems to have added some additional power as it feels stronger.

I don't know what I can say to you to CONVINCE you that this setup is just amazing.....

Stage 3 inactive or active spires... You can buy the stage 2 rear box active or inactive and have a muffler shop put straight through pipes deleting resonators.

ITS LIKE AN FTYPE R... Less crackles cause they are not programmed in but they ARE THERE when you lift off the gas...real loud . VERY FUN.

BUY IT.

Contact Matt at Spires.

I left the mid resonators and removed the rear muffler. Had a local shop weld on some pipes and dual tips, and I love it. Paid about $200 for it all, and sold the rear section for $200, so I broke even.

Good weight reduction as the rear boxes are quiet heavy
