Hello, ive been looking into upgrading the exhaust on my 07 XKR, and have found Quicksilver to be the front runner. To my taste, the stock exhaust seems fairly quiet, even with f19 removed. My car is even quieter than my friends Kia Stinger gt, and he has only made a couple mods to the vehicle. Ive been looking at the Quicksilver Sport exhaust option mainly, but the supersport option sounds quite appealing as well, my main concern is I dont want an obnoxious or overly loud and droning sound every time I drive the car. Im looking to buy a system that will last for the rest of my ownership, as well as hold up to when I get the car tuned and other performance upgrades. Any experience with quicksilver and/or advice would be appreciated.
300 cell cats. Besides, the life expectancy of a catalytic converter is over eight years and 80,000 miles. That's what the factory warranty is required to be. Your 15 year old car probably has a bit of cat degradation and could maybe benefit from a cat replacement at this time regardless.
The Quicksilver exhaust system probably will cost close to $3,000 including shipping from England and import duties. You probably could have a custom exhaust shop near you replicate their system for less than $1,000, as it appears that all Quicksilver did was remove the back boxes and resonators and install perforated exhaust tips.
Your car, your money, your choice.
P.S. Here's how a muffler delete sounds with the resonators left intact.
Never understand this make my car louder thing, pick ups go past my place and I think they should be given tickets for noise violations and these are new pick ups.
