For a sporty 4 door that is quick, handles so well and does everything so smoothly, I think it would be hard to beat the 4door Audi S5. My oldest friend just bought one, and I am highly impressed driving it just as I was several years ago when my business partner had a 2 door S5 6spd. It's just great. If sportiness is not part of the equation, but luxury and comfort are, I have to say that our Lincoln MKX Black Label has about every creature comfort (some of the nanny stuff I could do without) you could ask for and 22 way adjustable seats with an incredible massager feature. And the 2.7L ecoboost engine is peppy (330hp) with plenty of storage space. My one complaint is going over speed bumps it feels like the rear end is disconnected from the rest of the car, but otherwise, it's tight, comfortable, and quite luxurious. The new Continental with the 30 way adjustable seats looks incredible inside.
Besides, as Jeremy Clarkson says, Audi has taken over the Driven-by-***** title from BMW.
Personally, I can't stand Audis of any sort. Every one I've driven has been ergonomically abysmal, mediocre ride and performance and an 'anti-climax' to drive. They all made me sad. Add the horrendous quality and upkeep prices and I wouldn't even take one for free.

On top of their so called 'cool' status their s-tronic gearboxes are horrendous, jerky and prone to premature failure

Also, massive blind spots. The new ones have these angled side mirrors that cut their usefulness to near zero.
We plan to look at Lincoln when it comes time to replace our XE Jag. I like their styling direction.
I pulled the trigger on a 2015 CPO Lincoln MKS with the Elite package last night. Locally leased, dealer serviced. Fully loaded with panoramic sunroof and 20" wheels. It's got massaging seats for crying out loud! Nice car, good value.
I also drove a CPO 2015 Caddy XTS. Great car as well for the money. Loved the interior.

. I drove.the mkz as.well. Loved the sleek interior. The MKS beat it out becauseI wanted the larger car.i pick it up today. Ill get some pics up tomorrow
One thought after a week with two XE's:
- if you're looking at an XE, GET THE SIX-CYLINDER. The turbo lag in the 4-cyl almost got me into two accidents. Ironically, as I was returning the car I heard an interesting thing on NPR about how manufacturers design cars specifically for the EPA mileage rating and the turbo-four is almost custom-designed to game the fuel economy ratings test. I hate 'em.
I was DONE with the XE... and then I was swapped into a model with the supercharged 6.
Completely different driving experience. I am now a fan of the XE.
One more thing: After those two weeks, I may in fact pick up a 6-cyl XE. BUT I WILL NEVER trade my supercharged V8. NEVER.

The '91 Galant VR4 2.0 has so many rally wins in its day it shocked the race industry. Today that same 1st generation turbo 4 is pushing cars into the low 9's on the quarter mile track.
Audis 2.0 Turbo DFI is not as stout as Mitsubishi's, but many owners run them as daily drivers just under the 600hp mark.
Point being 4 cylinder turbos have the ability to offer the best of both worlds, IF the manufacturer knows what they are doing by building robustness into the blocks, AND allow aftermarket tuners access to the ECU, you can have a light weight beast. Turbo Lag has never gone away, but it has in almost every respect been so minimized, that it remains of little concern.

I really want an XJ but this will hold me over for a few years. Great ride. It's surprisingly quick and nimble for its size. Good value too. THX stereo system sounds great. Oh and it has a temp gauge!!

We got an MKX Black Label with all the bells and whistles, and the luxury of this car put my XKR to shame. The massage seats are just wonderful. Lincoln has come a long way with a little work left on things like suspension. And the twin turbo motors are very responsive.
