Dang. A lot of nice touches, and a very aggressive stance over all. I'm not sure if I like the flying buttresses inside, but not bad!

I wonder what the deal is with the twin centre exhausts on the grey car, as opposed to the red one with quad exhausts to the side.

As far as I know it will be launched with a V6, then shortly after V8.

Still really not sure about the soft top! Is it better looking than the XK or just different. Think this car my be aimed at the 25-35 age group. Thought that we would be in the market for an F-type but really not sure. We will be invited to a launch function at some time by our local jag dealer so will have a good look then. Real interested to see what Jag will do to the new XK as I think this will be aimed more towards my age group luxury GT car yes please.

I tend to agree... Is it a timeless classic? Is it a memorable design? I'm not sure.
To me it's a fashion car in the same league as the Boxter, S2000, Nissan 360.
Once these Jags are on the road in their masses, they wont be such a special thing.They'll be just another sports car.
I actually think it makes the XK more of a classic. I think it will bring more kudos to the overall brand and help with our XK's, as these cars will always be head turners. Conversation makers. Finger pointers. Will it be the same for the F-Type in a few years time? Again I think no. It pains me to say.

Roll on the new XK. Don't mess this one up Jag, keep it in the special club.

To the best of my knowledge the twin center exhaust are for a V6 car and the quads are for the V8. It's my understanding both will be in the initial launch.

I don't think there will be too many F-types on the road. It's not going to be cheap, and a 2 seat cabrio is already a limited group of buyers. It's a good model of Jaguar and hopefully it'll bring new buyers in the family, re-establish the marque with a true sports car offering, and offer the world an "affordable" British made sports car.

If the Alfa 4c ever comes to market, the sports car buyer is going to have some fantastic and compelling choices with real style.

Beautiful - strong family resemblance it looks like a younger sibling to the XK. If priced reasonably, I think it will be a big hit.

Love the front end--not real crazy about the way the flat convertible rear deck meets the taillights. Can't wait to see the coupe--it should look way better. Also not sure why they put that stupid "partition" between the driver and passenger.

According to the NYT, pricing starts at $69,875 for the V6 Supercharged, and ranges beyond $92,000 for an F-Type fitted with the V8 Supercharged.

Jaguar already has the F Type configurator available on its website. Expect to waste some time playing with it.

Thats what I thought too. Wondering what the rear deck will look like when they don't have to worry about stowing the roof away. The rear wheel arches look cool, but not sure about the rest.

One would think the main competition here would be the SL? This looks worlds better than that, thats for sure.

Is the "flying buttress" supposed to be a handle for the passenger??

I thought they'd be going after Boxster, 911, Z4, and Audi TT.
