Two fine looking cats! The leaper on the hood, IMO, spoils the pictures.

Car looks great Socal.....

I have to say I'm not a huge fan of the leaper, doesn't fit on the later models imo, just my 2c worth.

Why the CAT mats?

I appreciate the obvious significance but they just seem out of place on an otherwise fine car, thats a credit to you.

Thanks for sharing...

I love the interior color. I wish my black cat came with it, too. As to the lady in the picture; you don't look Polish, more British, IMO. Nice combination, altogether!

I think you guys should cut a break on the leaper. While I resented it when it was a dealer-installed option on the new XJL that I ended up purchasing, with time, I got used to it and, horror of horrors, I now grew to like it.

If you look at the previous gen XJs styling-wise they are not substantially more accommodating to the leaper, yet, no-one seems to have problems with it. Why? Apparently because people accept it as a factory install.

Also, not a single person who came up to talk about my XJL had found anything wrong or negative regarding the leaper. See, they accept it as a Jaguar original, not knowing otherwise.

That's one of the reasons they got rid of the leapers on the later X358s!

I think the worst offender I ever saw of a Jaguar leaper hood ornament was actually on a Kia Amanti, though.

in Poland, I saw a Jag when I was about 9 years old. I was awestruck by the cat on the hood. I knew that if I ever got a fine car I would have a medallion on the hood. I have my fine car, but I had to wait until I was 37, 38 now.

Everyone I know, makes fun of the car cause of the medallion, except my friends from Poland

My fiance was going to take it off and throw it away. just cause he thought that, he got no *** for 2 weeks.

As for the CAT mats. I dont like getting the jaguar mats dirty. My boyfriend told me to take out the cat mats before the pics. I cant post what my response to that was.

Many people have made comments about the mats when they see them in person, always guys. they always go away stunned, by my response

HOwever, you Jim, I consider a great guy for the understanding and leeway you have cut me on this forum. Your wife is a very lucky woman. You are a treasure!!

I greatly appreciate your opinion about the mats and the cat on the hood, and feel free to say whatever you desire about the car. it's ok by me

I've got the leaper from my old 71 XJ6 and it's mounted on an oak stand. I always thought it was the quintessential recognition factor of Jaguar. I did not have one on my XKE nor my XJS but did on the XJ6 and the X-Type. I must say I do like the leaper on the back of the XKR. SOCAL thanks for the pic's.

I kinda like the leaper! Especially on a black car.

And I'm not a big fan of the "Growler", I guess.

thanks for sharing. I have the leaper on my XF, I always felt the leaper figurine is for the four door. My mom had the leaper on her XJS though.

Do you have a video of your exhaust you could share?

It's the badge in the center of the grill. It was on the nose of my XJS. Also the center caps on the wheels.

Love your car Socal, in truth really envious....a gorgeous example.

My thoughts about the car mats and leaper are just my opinion, thats all

I always try and look for the positives whether it be a £1000 car or a £80k car.
Any negatives ( again in my opinion ) will be posted as gently as possible.

As many nice & positive comments as I've had about my car, I too have negatives that some may not like or agree with, gotta take the rough with the smooth unfortunately

As for my wife being lucky?
Can I please give you her contact details so you can discuss this with her and make her see sense?...lol

Very nice car and very attractive lady.

The contrast of the Ivory (that's the light color, correct?) and the Black go well together.

The 12+ MY front ends look much better than the 10 and 11 MY. Also, the elongated headlights look better too.

Since you have wanted the car for so long I know you are very proud to have it!

IMO the leaper belongs on the back. I understand your reason for putting it on the hood. Hey, if it makes you feel good there's nothing wrong with it. Life is too short to worry about silly things. I always liked black on black since I bought my 175. I almost passed on my 2013 XKR because of the ivory interior but I'm glad I changed my opinion. I now like the contrast and think black on white looks more classy on a Jaguar. My car is almost identical to yours but it's the coupe version.

So, here you go. I changed my opinion on the interior color and change my opinion on many things. The important thing is if something makes you happy and your not causing any problems then it must be right for you. I do like the leaper on the back and the growler on the front. Again, just my taste.

Nice photos - I'm another one that's not a big fan of the 'leaper', but I understand why it's significant to you. I've customised cars to my own taste in the past, and I'm sure some people didn't like that, either.

Have to agree. Did you add that or did it come that way. A guy down the street from my has an XJ6 with two leapers on the hood. One is regular size and one behind it is larger and humping the front one....

The Leaper is fine, I don't want to see every car the same, they need personality. I also believe that it is wonderful that it is part of her history of someday obtaining a car like that with a leaper. I love the Black and Ivey they are very rich and go with the Pretty Lady.
