Yes I am aware I am bring up an old thread. perhaps others know the answer
I found the pads on the XKR are not hard to press into place, bit fiddly but not hard.. It's possible they could have stretched them. Did you use Jag Victoria?

I doubt the poster amcdonal86 has Alcon brakes.

no I used my indepenant shop . Owner is a buddy. I don’t want to cause his guys of doing something wrong if it’s not it but if it’s a simple fix then makes it easier to ask as then it gets fixed and no biggie. If it’s a pain and expensive then if they did do it then I will want to rectified. So want to avoid any issues if possible. I’ll be posting a vid on my current squeaks and I need that fixed.

Is it a clunk or a rattle?
I've heard rattles from loose brake pads. I've heard clunks from calipers with frozen pistons which allowed too much movement between the pads and rotors. I've heard clunks from loose (not properly tightened) brake brackets.

More clunk sorry. Reason I think it’s this is I was told in the thread to brake over bumps and if no noise then brakes… apologies. I should’ve said that going over a bumpy road is when you hear it but if you brake slowly over that bumpy road, there is no noise.
