Default Front Mesh Grill

Hi Guys
Just bought a 07 XK black with slate/creme interior. It's enroute to Maui as we speak. Can't wait.
I was wondering if this grill bar can be removed and still retain the round Jag emblem?
Or will the Mina grill mount over this grill bar? I think it will show through.
All I know is that I don't like it and want to change it to a plain black upper and lower grill. (Pic is not my car BTW)
Any help is always appreciated.
Warm Aloha to you

Greetings from wet Washington State and congrats on the buy!

Can't be a direct help to your question, but thought I would volunteer another idea.

I had to have my grill replaced thanks to damage, so they just bought the wire one straight from Jaguar.... It is a full replacement (Dismount bumper for access), but I do love it.

I have seen the aftermarket wire mesh lower mounted in front of the OEM unit on another XK, and have to admit I'm not a fan.... Looks so obvious to me that it is "stuck on" that my eyes involuntarily start searching for the tie wraps...

I think the Jaguar wire upper and OEM lower look great together...

As always, its just an opinion.

Thanks for the feedback. Thats the look I wanted. I wanted to do the bottom too. Any idea what the OEM ones cost? Top and bottom in black.

The upper was about $200 if I recall. And included the center emblem.

Have to remove front bumper to install grill, but is straightforward and the OEM wire mesh grill looks stock. Comes in chrome and black.

Honolulu Jag just quoted me $326.03 for the blk lower and $$364.16 for the blk upper! Special order and unk price for shipping UPS or FEDEX since i'm on Maui. Yikes

Do you know if the ughly Ford taurus bar is removeable, leaving just the grill behind? Maybe it would leave a mounting dent huh.....

Did you try calling one of our Jaguar parts sponsors? I paid well under that for the top grill. Does your quote include labour?

Thanks Vince for the tip! Much better pricing.
any body have good luck with the Mina grills? They have a Oem style and aston style...that you don't have to remove the bumper. Both offered in black as well. (not shown on their website) Pro's and cons?

I have the Mina upper stainless grill. It fit perfectly over the stock black plastic grill with a few tiny stainless screws. You really can not tell the screws without looking really close, like a couple of feet. Easy install.

The main difference between the Mina and the stock is that the Mina mesh is more "dense", not nearly as open as the stock.

Albert,

Can you post some closeup pix at different angles? Would like to see how much the OE grill shows under the Mina stainless grill as well as the screws. Thanks,

Stuart
