Default Front seat removal - 2007 xkr convertible

I am nearly finished with the restoratation of my 2007 xkr convertible.
One of the Last interior items is the front seats.
I found a donor vehicle with nearly pristine seats to replace mine.
Before I tackle this I wanted to ask if it's as easy as it looks?
I see 4 bolts holding the lower track down and a few wire harness's to connect.
The seats are identical and were tested prior to purchases.
I don't want to get half way through and realize I am in over my head.
I did search for posts on this topic and came up blank.
Any insight is greatly appreciated.

I will post some before and after pictures of the car when I finish.

Thank you

Easy. Remember the seat is powered, so you want to retain seat power until mounting bolts are removed. What I do is move seat back to expose front bolts, remove them. Then I move seat forward to access remove rear bolts. I tip the seat back as forward as possible. Finally, I tip the seat upwards to expose electrical plugs, which I unplug. Suggest some sort of tarp over door sill to protect it from scrathes as the seat is itself awkward to handle.

Great news. I was hoping to do it myself.
Thanks so much!

In my haste I didn't take pictures BUT I can say it is easy to do.
Just as Rey specified in his post.
4 bolts and 3 power connectors - the passenger seat is a lot easier than the drivers seat. The steering wheel gets in the way a bit.
My only addition is make sure to loosen the wire harness from the bottom of the seat you are removing before trying to pull the seat out.
The entire process took 30 minutes.
As soon as my weatherstripping and drivers side scuff plate comes in I will post a full set of pics showing the complete interior restoration and upgrades.
Thanks for the help! Now on to the headlights ....

Wouldn't it have been cool if your last name ended with the letter 'a' instead of 'o'?

Joe - thank you for this. I am about to remove my front seat (2009 XK convertible) to get at the heated seat connectors (the driver's side heated seat is not working).

One question - did you experience any issues after the seat was installed?

Just making sure all was well before I go remove and re-install my seats.

Many thanks!

Default So easy

You’ll be shocked how easy it is. Just make sure to pop the connectors and the old one will be out quickly.
When installing I put the seat in place then propped it up so I could connect the wiring. Make sure to spray a little contact cleaner into the connectors, let it dry and seat evenly and tightly.
Mine worked like a charm and was installing used sears from a insurance total.
Of all the pain in Butt items on an XK, the seats certainly aren’t one of them!
Best of luck.
Joe

Great to hear - thank you Joe. I'll be at it this weekend. Hoping for an easy heated-seat repair! Fingers crossed for a loose connector (I can hope).

Didn't see it mentioned earlier but for the drivers side - raise the steering wheel up and into the dashboard to give you the most room to extract seat from car.
