Default Front seatback tilt adjustment 2011 xkr coupe

If it had just 3/4" more legroom, it would be perfect...

The trouble is that when I move the driver's seat back, when it gets to within about 1-1/2" of the rear seat, it it absolutely insists upon tilting the seatback forward in order to maintain the space. If it simply wouldn't do that, it would be perfect.

I've got the dealership working on it, under some protest ("it's the design intent" etc etc) so I'm not sure they're going to be of any help, although I will know later today.

Seems to me it should just be a matter of relocating a sensor, or something similar. Or am I wrong and this is asking too much? (The demo I test drove was last year's and a different model, and I don't remember this being a problem.)

Thanks in advance for any help

They call that and "Anti-Clash" function; it's so the front seat doesn't hit the quarter trim at the very rear of it's movement. They will wear spots in the leather if it doesn't work right. If the seats aren't programmed properly, the anti-clash won't work right, either. I'm not positive, but I think if the battery is left disconnected overnight the anti-clash is lost. Of course, the windows etc. will have to be reinitialized when re-connected.
I really don't think you will gain much extra room by letting the two come together, though.

Cheers,

Ah, well. I don't think it's a disaster, I'll get used to the positioning soon. As I say, it's like 3/4". If I'm completely honest, it's no different than my other vehicle, that I've been driving for years.

But ... are you saying that a recalibration is possible after cycling the battery connection? I don't think I'd get much extra space either, but if I got any, that would be pretty good.

that programming is maintain in a non volatile memory, in others words a battery reset/replacemtn wont lose this programming. The only way to take it out is replace the seat module with a non programmed new unit and dont program it. But then you may have other issues, like doesnt know where it is for memory function to work.
