Default Front tire ware

can someone please help in identifying the problem with tire wear on the driver's side front, the passenger side front is ok , see photos.2013 xk base has 51,000 miles at this time
Is the cause a bent rim, bad bushings etc. ? I have had the alignment checked

What sort of alignment was done and what were the results of the alignment?

That wear pattern initially suggests that the rear alignment is wrong pushing the car one way and you steering against it to counteract. Is the inner edge of the passenger side tyre also somewhat more worn/rounded off?

It could be either a bent rim or an alignment problem where the toe may have been altered due to hitting a pot hole. I would go to someone who knows how to do a 4 wheel alignment and ask for a read out of the alignment which should compare spec. to final alignment. Also have the rim checked for run out when they are going to mount a new tire.

both of these photos are taken from standing in front of the tire, at different tire rotation positions? and it's just that one visible length of the circumference of the tire that's damaged? that's scalloped, or cupping, there's probably suspension damage or maybe some kind of periodic vibration from something loose. a toe/camber issue alone would wear evenly around the entire circumference of the tire.

Yes the other photo is the passenger front which looks fine, so only the driver side front is the problem, sorry for the confusion

You check the rim by rotating te tire and using a dial indicator against the wheel lip to see the run out. You should take the wheel off of the car and look at it to see if there is any visual tire or wheel damage. A tire shop can tell you this. Because of the wear you know something is wrong so it could be a few things like wheel damage , suspension damage or axel damage. We can point to any of these causes but you need someone who can look at the problem. Otherwise we are all guessing here.

Both tires look very worn to me. And it doesn’t seem a proper 4 wheel alignment was done as that should expose a worn suspension issue.
If the wheel is bent, that should expose itself very quickly on a wheel balancing.

Get the wheel shop to email through their report , then we can all can collectively take a look at the results .

I'm currently on f type gyrodynes solely due to fact of a heavy car/low profile tyres and 4 buckled senta wheels so yes very likely you could have a damage rim as well

looks like camber wear to me. Check struts, tie rod ends, ball joints, control arm bushings. Less likely, check the front wheel bearing.

At the time I was not to pleased but as you know the caster adjustment is more time consuming so being within spec was OK. Buy the way this is the 2nd time I had them do the alignment as there were other parameters that were to close to the max. I looked at his 1st data sheet and had to escalate to the service manager to have him redo it. Funny thing was most of the adjustment lined up with the orign. factory marks. The 1st 2 pics are before and the 2nd 2 are after.

I know this is off the subject, but I notice your vehicle is the same color as mine. I have a 2013 xk white with white seats. Tried to contact Jaguar to find out how many were made in 2013. Got a reply from the accessory shop directing me someplace else. Have you made any inquires about your car?
