Default Is this a fuel injector or fuel filter problem or something else?

I have an interesting problem that has only occurred twice so far, about a week a part in each instance.

driving at normal freeway speeds - 100-120kp/h
both times at 1/4 tank of fuel
let off the accelerator to slow to 80ish kp/h due to traffic slowing, begin to accelerate slowly and the car shudders slightly like it's starving for fuel.
let off the accelerator again, drop it a gear manually and push my foot down again, problem is gone and doesn't re appear.
A week later, same stretch of highway, same problem.

anyone experienced anything like this?

I'm thinking bad injectors or bad fuel filter?

any ideas?

thanks
Justin

Some random thoughts:

Have you checked the fluids in your transmission and differential?

How many miles on the car and transmission fluid?

This doesn't sound like fuel starvation to me but I would change the fuel filter just in case.

54k km's on the car, just had its major service in december. I personally have not checked those fluids, I assumed the dealer would have. But since you mentioned it, I will have them checked.
thanks

You should check for any pending fault codes with an OBDII code reader as soon as possible after it happens.

I'll be taking the car in to a mechanic friend this friday to check the fluids. I'll keep everyone posted
