Default Fuel Sender removal 2007 Jaguar XK

Hello, I bough a 2007 Jaguar XK unseen from an auction. The car is cranking but not starting. I don't hear the fuel pump when I switch on the contact.
I removed the rear seats to get access to the opening to the fuel tank and noticed the previous owner enlarged the hole to remove the fuel pump without removing the fuel tank.
I decided to go that way too and removed the fuel lines and connector per the maintenance manual, but can't seem to remove the sender as it seems stuck on a fuel line in the tank not mentioned in the procedure.
See attached drawing copy of the maintenance manual with the fuel line in green which prevents removing the fuel sender.
Any suggestions how to remove the green fuel line?
On researching a used part I found on Ebay some units where the fuel line I mentioned was cut. So apparently I'm not the only one having difficulties with it.

It's been about five years since lowering the rear suspension, drive shaft, etc. to remove the fuel tank on my 2010 XK.
My recollection is that you are pointing to the return line from the jet pump which returns fuel from the left side of the tank.
The return line is friction fit into the primary fuel pump reservoir/canister. It should just pull out.

Yes, there is an access hole under the rear seat but it's only suitable for checking connections.
Removing the tank provides the opportunity to clean accumulated trash from both tank lobes.
It much easier to properly service the pump assembly with the tank on the floor.
For those chasing a failed level sensor, there is a TSB

And for those working on a 2010-15, take the opportunity to replace the access cover with integrated filter, about $200+ USD from JLR parts.
2007-09 XKs have an easily replaceable filter near the right rear suspension. Always a worthwhile service item.
Removing the fuel tank is a bit of a pita using jack stands rather than a lift, but reasonable and worthwhile for a dedicated DIYer.
