Default Fuse 19 on 2013 XKR...big screw up from Jaguar

The Fuse box on the 2013 XKR is completely labelled wrong...I am trying to find the fuse for the Active Performance Exhaust and can't find it because the labeling between the user manual and the actual passenger compartment fusebox is wrong.
Anybody with a 2013 XKR, please help!

Thanks
Samy

Is your owners manual for your 2013 XKR?

Are you looking in the correct fusebox? The fusebox is behind the rear two seats.

Also, I think that Fuse 19 trick only works for 4.2L XKRs. But I might be mistaken!

yes the manual that came with the car and the manual on the jaguar website for the 2013 xkr...The fuse for the active performance exhaust is on the driver side fuse box as per the directions on the manual (not the rear seat fuse box).
This link will show you what I am talking about:Jaguar USA - OWNERS MANUALS

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

It does look like a typo in the 2013 manual--good catch. I just checked the 2012 Owner's manual, which has the correct fuse box labels on those tables. You want fuse 19 in the rear seat fuse box.

F19 - 10A - Red - S/C active exhaust.

The other fuse 19 in the passenger compartment is for the RF receiver?

Default Yep, it's wrong

Just compared the MY13 manual with my MY11 manual - I believe they've goofed & swapped the titles for the fuse boxes. The one labelled "Passenger Compartment" is the rear seat one, and vice versa. So, the "Supercharged active exhaust" fuse is F19 in the rear-seat fusebox, same as it is on an MY11 car.

Recently pulled the #19 from rear seat fuse box, and certainly provides a nice "growl" to the sound.

I wouldn't obsess too much over one typo in the owner's manual! I'm more worried about QA/QC problems in the actual car!!!

So by doing that, it keeps the active exhaust open?
Any down side...trouble codes etc...?

I've had fuse 19 out for over 2 years with no problems whatsoever (except for frequent leadfoot).

Only thing I've heard of is that the valve can get stuck through lack of use and carbon deposits building up - then, when you need to pass a noise test, you can't. I guess that problem isn't relevant to a lot of people (depends on your local regulations), but it's been mentioned as an issue in relation to the UK MOT test. If you have strict local noise emission regs, might pay to put the fuse back in from time to time, just to keep things in working order.

I am sure one of these would work just fine. Basically pulls out the fuse and puts in back in anytime via wireless remote.

Me, i heard from the service manager than the valves was also there to impeach water to get into the pipes, so a switch is better than nothing.

You're out of luck, Woodie. Only the S/C 2006 (2007 outside UK)-2015 XKRs with the X150 Alloy Body have the active exhaust with fuse 19.

Just so I understand if you have a 2013 XKR with the PAE then you get the same results when you press the checkered flag button on the console. Is the purpose of pulling the #19 fuse just to avoid pressing the button.

From what I was told by my dealer, with Dynamic Mode enabled the exhaust opens up at 3000 RPM and is closed below the 3000 RPM. Pulling the fuse opens the exhaust all the time. I don't know, maybe he lied to me.

If they do get stuck, you can probably unstick them by manually working the valve levers, since they are exposed above the outside pipe.

No, Dynamic Mode opens the valves regardless of RPM. The normal situation is that the valves are closed between about 1500 and 3500 RPM (it varies depending on throttle opening). That may be what your dealer was thinking of.

However, Dynamic Mode also stiffens the dampers, sharpens the throttle response and makes other changes to 'toughen' the car for performance driving. Those things aren't always desirable for city driving, especially the suspension changes. So, pulling fuse 19 gives you the sound you want without the other effects.
