Default Gas mileage

My new to me, 2009 XK averaged 29 mpg on a 450 mile trip doing about 70 mph the entire way according to the readout. Is that possible? Is it right? I was expecting 25.

Thanks.

My 07 XK does about the same as measured from the trip computer. Drive at 55 mph and it does well over 30 mph. Given that you have the 5 liter engine, 30+mph is outstanding.

Yes, that is quite achievable with the 4.2 litre engine. My 4000+ mile average with my '08 XK is around 27 MPG for about 85 percent freeway and 15 percent city/hill driving.

I think 2010+ is the 5 liter. He has the 4.2!

13 mpg is only about 4 mpg worse than my V6 Mustang gets right now. But it takes regular! And it doesn't fully warm up because my commute is too short!
