Did your arm also fail at the connection to the door? (I see what looks like a reinforcement at the point.) If so, you may want to test and replace the damper itself. See my post on “stiction” of the damper (search for my name).
It did break at base and I did reinforce it. I’ll chase down your post. I did open/close the door a few times and everything seemed to go “ok” but I’m sure at some point my “fix” will break. Thanks for the thought!
Funny because just yesterday I went to open my glove box and heard the plastic snap and the glove box flops open when you press the button… not a big deal more of just a pet peeve since I rarely ever open the glove box anyhow. Going to take a look at it later this week since that plastic arm seems to have fallen inside the opening of the actual glove box.
