No, I did not, and the attachment place should be the same as before. Something went badly when I put the box back. Ouch, I do not want to take it away again... :/

I haven't fixed mine yet - I resolved the issue temporally by banning gloves from the car..

It is not difficult, if you have a drilling machine and can open the torx screws.

I wonder how many times you can open the glove box before it breaks. I open mine once a year to insert my insurance card. When I got the car back in 2014 it was broken so as a CPO car the new dealer replaced the glove box even though I knew of the fix but they wouldn't do it and ordered a new box from Jaguar. So I opened it 5 times and so far it's OK.

Bahaha.

To Macc, when I did mine, same thing happened. Turned out I used a screw that was about 1/16" too long. When the glove box lid is half open, the clearance for the screw repair is less then when totally shut. I removed the box, undid the repair, trimmed the screw and it fixed it.

When the box was loose, it worked well. So you mean that when installed, it did this? That would be quite easy to fix!

Hmm. I don't remember. But I didn't notice it not open all the way until it was installed, then when I removed it again I was able to see the problem. Either way, you're gonna need to take it out again.

Okay. Turns out that I had slightly misplaced the plastic side cover. When I started removing the glove box, I of course first took off the side cover. Luckily I tried then does the box open now, and to my great surprise it did! So look carefully how it should sit there, the are some plastic pieces guiding the side cover to its' right place. Easy to break them if you use force. For some reason even the glove box light started to work

Anyone know how to remove the glovebox from my XF 2010, problem is that a fork (cutlery) has fallen down the back and has now wedged down behind the hinge, making closing the box impossible, I took out three torx screws out from below hinge, then removed the side trim and took out the one bolt, But the glovebox will not come out, anyone know the trick?

Sorry, but you are in the incorrect forum for your car. You will have much better luck in the XF Forum. A moderator will probably move your post over to where it belongs. Good luck.

Default Jaguar X150 XKR Glove box repair

Im over the moon, I just repaired my Jags dropping glove box, It started to drop yesterday. I found the attached Jaguar bulleten and it took me 30 mins. Very easy. I even changed the glove box bulb to a LED one. The bulleten was a great source. To remove the glovebox, 2 torx screws inside upper of the box, one on the side of the dash accessible by removing a plastic cover. then x2 screwa underneath at each end. 5 screws. remove the felt footwell fabric by unclipping from the bottom of the box.

My glove box is presently sitting on my dining room table being repaired for the "will not open". Presently making the bracket to hold the rod to the latch.
