Default Glove box " repair " by AD.

Hello all.

The common problem of the glove box damper failure has just been " repaired " by my local AD.

However, it has now gone from dropping down suddenly, to not opening without assistance. The dealership tells me that this is correct.

I KNOW it isn't and that it should fall open slowly, ( as in my previous cars ). Bit tired of being messed about now.

Would somebody please help me out by posting a video of how it should actually work ? So that I can copy and paste it ? Or even video the video !!

That would be a great help.

Thank you.

Well, THAT .html sure didn't do what it was supposed to do. You linked to the page and not the video. Also, it was a messed-up format that looks all crazy, like a bad middle school attempt at making a web page. Probably because it's from a Private FB Group that nobody else can access.

I've removed the video. Not everybody is as " tech savvy " as others are I'm afraid.

I've edited the post to simply request a video of a glove box opening as it should.

Hopefully, somebody might oblige.

If my wife moves her car, I'll have enough room to video mine. It's now stuffed in a too-small garage to open the doors but a tad.
I'll take and post when that happens.

There's one on YouTube which also shows a broken latch, but the door works correctly...

That's exactly what our glove box lid does - literally hit or miss that it will latch.

I solved the problem by putting a strip of heavy duty velcro along each side of the lid.
