I usually wrap my interior trims very year or so for a different look using vinyl wrap. I was thinking about giving this a go and wondered if anyone else has tried it.
Looking at Piano black - the vinyl wrap in piano black isn't quite cutting it. The OEM trim pieces are prolly out of my price range but I don't think Piano Black was available until 2010 anyway so the center console s different. I thought of hydro-dipping the pieces but the next owner may be Jonesing for the burl wood so I like to be able to undo any modifications.
Anyway it's removable. Random thoughts are welcome
Yep thanks. After your comment I went hunting on the inter web and it's a hard no. I'll try the vinyl since I have it. I have the burl steering wheel though. That will test my skills. Kill this thread
@arenaej Thank you. I've never seen it available in piano black. Was the part new? do you have a part #? I'm assuming the part numbers change with color.
Yep @arenaej you got lucky. Cheapest I've found is $384 and most are over $400
I think it was a special order that didn’t get picked up. When I took my XK in to the dealer to activate aux audio for the CarPlay install, the parts manager asked me if I was interested…that started a whole thing…found the entertainment center trim on eBay, engine spun glove box and steering wheel trim from Rimmer Brothers…it’s different, but I like it…
The reflection on the PAX seat side bolster made me think for just a second that you dyed the leather a silver to match the dash insert. Just for a second...
I sprayed my hood vents and fender vents with similiar product a few years ago , still looks good. In saying that I might try and peel it off the winter just for a change back to original.

I bought a full set of spun aluminum (piece above steering wheel, radio surround and part by glove box). Prolly had it on for about a week and they live in a box now. Im thinking about recovering it with zebrawood veneer and clear coat, or?

I have the burl wood. If you're considering unloading PM me. I also have the partial burl wood steering wheel. Tossing around whether to swap or not. Options out there are expensive in an case.
