Default Head Turners! XKR and DB9

So, this afternoon I stopped at Trader Joe's to pick up a few groceries and when I came out to my surprise there was a DB9 Volante parked next to me. As I was putting my bags in the trunk, another car drove by, stopped, and the driver started taking pictures and said "Just beautiful - had to take some pictures". As I started taking pictures of both cars, the owner of the DB9 came out with a shopping cart loaded with cases of wine and said "I did the same thing - when I pulled into the parking lot I thought that was another Aston, so I parked next to you and then realized it was a Jag and took several pictures, too." To make a long story short, his car is a 2006 DB9 Volante, and mine is a 2009 XKR Portfolio Cvt. Here are the pix:

EDIT #1 NOTE: How do I get my pictures into this post? Can anyone help? I used the "Insert Image" icon and copied the web address to each photo in my Picasa web album, but the pictures didn't load - just got red X's in boxes. Copy and paste didn't work. Thanks.

OK - I read the FAQ page, Attachments and Images, and figured out how to insert my photos. Mouse over or click on each thumbnail to enlarge it.
How do I insert large photos, not thumbnails? I couldn't find that in the FAQs.

Very cool, but you parked over the line

If you have the images hosted on another site you can use the image button to link to them. You can also use the image button to show the large versions after you have attached them. Basically you use [ IMG ] yourimagename.jpg [ / IMG ] with no spaces.

Here are the larger versions:

Looks like the DB9 has the Mansory front bumper. Borderline ricey....IMO.....with quad fogs.

XKR looks great.......you might want to consider lowering it for a better stance.... Just a suggestion.

Ghostrider - you're right, it is the Mansory front bumper. And I concur that it is, as you put it, "ricey", which I think means "boy racer". IMHO, that bumper detracts from the otherwise smooth and clean styling of the DB9; I prefer the stock bumper. Also, thanks for the suggestion but I already have to be very careful going in/out of driveways at an angle to avoid scraping the front spoiler, so lowering it would increase risk of damage.

I'm not having trouble with scraping my XKR so much as I'm having trouble getting used to the length of the nose of my car. Coming from an Audi RS4 that has a shorter front end it's a bit of an adjustment. As my college student/teenage daughter would say, "those are rich people problems!!".

Disregard post - just testing to see if my new photo was included in my signature (it wasn't).

Can anyone help? I went to my User CP page, clicked on Edit Profile Picture, uploaded a picture from my computer (63.6KB - under the 64KB max), that picture was uploaded and shows in the Current Profile box, but it doesn't show under my signature. I'm puzzled.

How do I get a picture into my signature? What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for your help.

Postscript: All figured out; images now posted. Thanks to all for your help.

Thanks. I decided to post my replies under that thread instead of this one, since that link is more on point. Anyone interested in the saga of how to upload a picture to your signature can follow-up under that link.

Of the pair, the Jag wins in the looks department! The black wheels don't help the Aston's case in my opinion.

Default Fox (XK) in Wolf's clothing? Jaston or Asguar?

I can understand why a seller would do this with a wrecked XK8, but why would anyone want to buy one of these (unless it was really cheap)?
Jaguar XK8 disguised as Aston Martin DBS lands on eBay (click on this link)

And here's another one for only $152,999! (Ouch!) You can buy a real DB9 for a lot less!
2005 Aston Martin Vanquish Cabriolet (Built on a 1998 Jaguar XK8 Cab) Black - Porsche Body Kits and Custom Porsche Body Parts Styling, Porsche Wicked Motor Works (click on this link for lots of pix) (sorry, couldn't get images to fit)

Why buy a kit car, unless your prefer implants over the real thing! Just my $0.02.

I posted this once before but it's worth a second post. This is Top Gear testing an XKR vs an Aston Martin V8 Vantage. You get the idea that Top Gear isn't impressed with the XKR at first but keep watching: Top Gear testing a Jagur XKR vs Aston Martin - YouTube

Something similar happened to me once last week and once yesterday. I was at the audi dealer last week looking to possibly trade in the XKR for a R8 V10 Spyder and the salesman at the door came up to me and said when I pulled in the parking lot he though it was an Aston Martin. I was then browsing through the showroom and looked out the window and saw 3-4 salesman gathered around my car. When leaving...they were all saying nice car and they were standing there watching me pull out onto the street.

I was at the Nissan dealer yesterday as my buddy wanted to look at the 370Z/GTR and again the saleman thought I drove up in an Aston. When I was leaving...one of the salesman gave me his biz card and said whenever you're going to sell it to give him a call. lol.
