Default headlight delay suddenly non-functional

It of course was working before, but now it does not. Only off, on & auto work, but cycling through the 3 delay times has no effect, the lights shut off when the car is shut off. no indication in the cluster messages either.

Any ideas? Thanks.

This is a computer controlled function. The first thing I would suspect is a glitch caused by a low battery. I would suggest having your battery load tested.

If the battery is OK, it could be just a random computer glitch.

Try to reset the computers by disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes. Then follow the instructions in this thread after reconnecting the battery: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...cement-106281/

Oh I wish it were that. The battery was replaced by the dealer just a few months ago. But thanks for the suggestion. I have the Select Edition warranty but was hoping it might be something simple.

That is still no guarantee against a computer glitch. I still recommend a disconnect and reconnect of the battery. It is possible for any computer to have a 'soft' failure and require a reset to begin running properly again. I am sure you have experienced this on your PC. This can happen on your car's computers also.

Turned out to be some of the contact points inside the switch. Replaced under warranty, working correctly now.
