I tried LED brake lights also. Even though they worked well, my car kept telling me that my brake lights had failed, so I've swapped them back.

Default Headlight refurb

How did you refurb the exterior of these headlights please?
Also like the look of replacement bulbs. Must be better than my 15 year old glow worms.

I didn't refurb the exteriors. They're pretty clear and don't need anything.

My outer housings are nice and clear, but the inside lenses are a bit cloudy. I did tint the outsides with 10% grey, but also used some expensive-ish LED bulbs. The light is now more than enough, even through the cloudy and tinted units.

try to find a set that is coded for use in cars with voltage sensors. The previous owner installed LED tails but that’s a different kind of install.

Do you recall what LEDs you used? I found a post where you put some powerful ones your truck. Did you use the same in your car?

I seriously do not remember which ones, but they were not the same. I wanted to try some better ones in the XKR. I used HIKARI bulbs in one or the other. Can't remember which. I'll look in my garages, see if I can find the old box.

EDIT:
Well, ****. I guess I'm an old forgetful coot.
I used the HIKARI LED 6000k in my old F150.
I found in Amazon where I bought some brand RCP 6000k Xenon bulbs in D1S, so I evidently cheaped-out on my Jag to the tune of $26 for the set. Still though, they are a lot brighter than the ones that were in when I bought it in 2014, which I expect would be the original OEM bulbs.

Matt, the difference between those two headlamps, before and after, is terrific. Can you explain the process you used to get to that perfection please? Did you take the units off the car first and if so how? You will gather that I am not an experienced mechanic!

Each lamp assy is held in place by three bolts. Two are under the hood (bonnet) and one is in the wheel well. (Turn the wheels all the way left to get to the right light and all the way right to get to the left light.) There is a wire bundle and a water line (cleaning) attached to each.
