Headlights, fault, faults, error, code, codes, tps, headlamps, help
I know this is vague. I just want to reach as many frustrated Jag owners as I can!!! So hear me out. TPS problem, crossed adaptive headlights, codes, dash error lights….. Jags are complicated witches!! They will run home and take their ball with them when there is an issue. I had a tps fault (with new set of sensors) headlights that didn’t show a dash fault but were crosseyed when turning on engine. I bought this…. Cleared them all and no more electrical tape over the fault light. All is right in my world. Lights turn when I turn. TPS fault is gone. I must have deleted a hundred stupid little communication loss, low voltage errors. Please invest the 57 dollars and just clear the history. I think Elizabeth ( my Jag) just needed to have a new start. Cheers!l This lil’ baby!
systems go!!
Dude I don’t own the company, I ain’t getting any kickbacks…. I am just so frickn’ happy it worked. BTW. What’s YOUR motivation in busting my chops? Huh???
From the OPs original post; you may benefit from reading (from cover to cover) the Technical Training Manual and the Workshop Manual and learning about the systems of your car. There is no black majic. There are technical systems that require technical understanding for their management.
Low voltage and lost communications errors are telling.
Nearly any ODBII device can clear codes. The trick is knowing which codes to ignore and which codes to follow up on.
*SIGH*
I posted a reply to a thread that asked specifically about oil brands.
You started a thread promoting a specific device.
Many, many times there have been threads in here began exactly as this one where the poster was either the owner or an affiliate of the product.
If as you say you are NOT affiliated, I do apologize. You should however have stated that you were not a part of the organization.
As a junior member it is possible you aren't familiar with proper decorum yet, so I guess I can allow this to pass.
Thanks for your positive and constructive responsive. I will keep digging. Still happy that I didn’t have to remove the front seat and replace the TPS module.. Yet!?! 😳😝
Boy, this thread shows both sides of the internet. One had insight and direction. The other…. Condescending, abusive and full of bile. Neither posters know me. But only one shows the patience to be posting at all on this site. I guess I thought this was primarily a technical sharing co-op type of place. But I see that some believe it is a social oligarchy.
Great news OP and good to know .
It seems that Christmas spirit is in abundance here as ever . Of all the forums I use cars , bikes and other hobbies, this one is unfortunately frequented by a few posters who appear to act as self appointed toy policemen.
Those contributors seem to have three or four standard responses:
Read the manual
Update your profile
Read the forum rules
Your battery is flat
Your battery is flat
Your battery is flat
It's a shame as there are some good tips and technical stuff on here and some very helpful contributions. I enjoy reading a lot of it and have learnt a bit too.
Moreover, the workshop manual lays out very clearly the driving procedure to follow, should a battery be “reconnected”. Most overlook this essential learning process for the ecm. The title of the section is “Reconnecting the battery”, found in section 100-00.
There are a collection of communiques, technical training documents, and TSBs worthy of a read. I only keep the ones I’m interested in keeping. If any polite person has the interest, send me a PM and I may be able to extend access to my collections.
Another interesting section is the Quiescent Current section and the Battery and cables section. Especially the section on the Battery Monitoring System. There is much misinformation in these forums that is simply clarified by the quick read.
@robariz You've been a Forum member for almost 3 years. As you know, there are lots of knowledgeable and helpful members here. But we need you to help us help you.
Your Public Profile is useless because all it says is that you're in the USA - where? Your state matters, as does your car. There are huge differences between 4.2L and 5.0L model years. I get it, I'm paranoid about privacy, too. But you can still create a signature that tells us where you are together with your current ride(s). Climate matters, as it affects your battery, dashboard leather, rubber parts, and more.
