Default Help! Driver Seat Not Moving!

2007 XK

Nothing on the driver side seat control panel does anything.

I checked fuse 30 and 32 in the driver footwell and they are both good. Passenger seat works fine.

That entire panel does nothing, and the memory buttons are not lit or anything.

Please help!

Do not attempt major repairs immediately, it could be a computer module crash. Give it a few hours. If it does not come back on its own, disconnect the battery for a minute at the negative terminal, and then reconnect it and see if the functionality returns. Note that you will need to reset the windows per the owner's manual, and recycle the parking brake after the battery disconnection.

Had the same thing one day when I drove home from work. Next day was fine and has been ever since.

May be a low battery voltage or moisture as I believe it had rained that day.

Last Monday we had heavy rain all day and when I drove home I kept getting the passenger seat belt warning and pass air bag off indicator lit up. Stopped doing it after 10 minutes then did it again next day but has been fine ever since.

Did you wash the car before it happened, if not check your battery voltage as that is notorious for gremlins.

Thank you!
Disconnected and reconnected the battery and the seat works. Wow. I am speechless about these electronics.

I have a CTEK battery maintainer that I use pretty much daily even though it is a daily driver. I only do about 12 miles total a day so not too much. if you don't have one yet is it a good investment.

If you do a forum search you will find a lot on the topic.

I had the same problem last summer. I found that I had to pull the fuse for the network connection to the seat. I don't remember which fuse it is but it's on the wiring diagrams. I think that I pushed two adjustments at the same time, like back angle and linear, and that tripped out the network.

Seat module fuses are in the footwell fusebox - F9 (passenger) and F18 (driver), both 5A tan.
