Default hood unlatched error

2011 xk convertible
Hood unlatched error though the hood is secured. Anyone know where the sensors may be located?

The hood ajar microswitch is on the left side just under the edge of the hood:

On a British car, the hood often refers to the convertible top.

The cover over the engine in the 'bonnet' on a British car.

Try cycling the convertible top.

Yeah, I was wondering which 'hood' we were talking about. The Jag workshop manual seems to interchangeably refer to hood & bonnet (so there's talk about the "BONNET OPEN" warning, but the locks section talks about hood release, hood latches and hood ajar switch) and hood & top (so there's "HOOD NOT LATCHED", which means "Convertible top not latched correctly". Sigh - divided by a common language...

The convertible top has sensors all over the place:

Tension bow sensors (2)
Main bow sensors (3)
Tonneau panel open sensor
Tonneau panel closed switch (2)
Luggage separator position sensor
Front latch open & close sensors (2)
Convertible top latched sensor

It may be the last one that you're interested in. "The convertible top latched sensor is a Hall effect sensor located in the LH latching bracket." - i.e. it's above your head, where the top latch is. But looking at how bloody complicated the whole system is, I'd be tempted to get an expert to take a look, if Steve's suggestion doesn't work.

yes white xkr is correct. the hood is the convert. top bonnet is over the engine. I had this happen to me and pulled off the road and opened and closed the "bonnet" several times then put the top "hood" down and warning went off. Case of language from England.
